Crazy Golf at Apex Plaza

Real Estate Fund Managers PRUPIM brought crazy golf action to Reading, when it set up an artificial golf course in the atrium of its 200,000 sq ft office building, Apex Plaza.

Competing for Reading’s own Ryder Cup – the Apex Plaza Cup – were over 50 property agents and tenants, who teed off in warm, dry conditions, with very little breeze, a stark contrast to the weather conditions at the Ryder Cup.

In the competition between London and Reading agents, the latter, captained by Shaun Walters of Parkinson Holt, walked away with the trophy and a case of champagne.

The winning tenant was Phil Worswick of Ernst & Young, with a scorecard of 9, who took home a case of champagne.

Aaron Pope, Associate Director, Asset Management at PRUPIM said: “Unlike at Celtic Manor, we did not need waterproofs – perhaps we should suggest hosting the Ryder Cup indoors in years to come! We managed to ensure that our tenants and property agents could enjoy playing golf during the Ryder Cup weekend in Wales and we were delighted with the turnout and enthusiasm of all of the participants."
